Bonnie A.

Bonnie graduated cum laude from Yale University with a BA in Theater Studies. A National Merit Scholar and Presidential Scholar in high school, Bonnie scored 2350 on the SAT, with perfect scores of 800 on both the Reading and Writing sections. In addition to her extensive SAT and SAT subject test tutoring, Bonnie has tutored students taking both the Middle and Upper Level SSAT and the Lower Level ISEE. With nearly seven years of tutoring experience, Jane is a skilled and dedicated teacher for all sections of these standardized tests. Her passion for teaching comes from seeing her students reach that “aha!” moment, and she uses her humor, her flexible teaching style, and her experience on both sides of the desk to help her students succeed, not only in their academic subjects, but through the college admissions process and beyond. Also a professional actress, Remy serves as a strong role model for students striving for academic excellence while balancing extracurricular and career interests. Remy scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT and also received perfect scores of 5 on the AP exams in Biology and US History.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, Remy is a skilled instructor who finds that students connect well to her warm, engaging, and energetic personality. She is passionate about teaching important study and organizational skills, and works with her students to manage test anxiety so they can reach their full potential on these exams and in their future academic careers. She has tutored Middle and Upper level SSAT students and has experience with the Upper Level ISEE, seeing impressive score increases.

Somin graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Yale University with a B.A. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. An avid traveler, she was the recipient of the Richard U. Light Fellowship to study Japanese in Tokyo and Nagoya. At Yale, Somin writes for the Yale Scientific and teaches science demonstrations to local middle school students. She is also very involved in neuroscience research and has worked in labs at Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Yale.
Somin received a 2370 on the SAT, as well as perfect scores on SAT II Math Level 2, Chemistry, and Physics exams. With tutoring experience in both classroom and private settings, Somin believes in tailoring teaching materials to meet the specific needs of each of her students. Laurel, a recent graduate of Yale University, is newly a New Yorker and thrilled about it. She graduated with distinction in her major, Theater Studies, and also specialized in English literature. For her senior project, she co-wrote a new musical that was developed with the faculty in a production seminar and produced in May of 2014.
